FOE 871 Parking Lot closure! Please read!

Brothers and Sisters,
  

We are having work done on our parking lot Friday, June 28th and Saturday, June 29th.

 

On Friday, there will be LIMITED parking available prior to 4:00PM. (The full lot will be open for Friday night’s Shrimp & Wing dinner).

 

On Saturday, July 29th & Sunday July 30th the Aerie will be open, but the parking lot will be closed.

 

ANY CARS LEFT OVERNIGHT IN THE LOT ON FRIDAY, JUNE 28TH WILL BE TOWED.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
 
Check out this list for all the fun upcoming events at FOE 871. Join us for great food and donate an hour to help set up, deliver meals, or clean up.  Each volunteer gets to suggest the charity or their choice for a possible $500 donation by a generous brother.  We will draw slips at the end of the month, and the organization chosen will receive $500.

Friday’s dinner/Volunteering/June events

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
 
There is still time to volunteer to cook dinner for this Friday night, June 14.  Doesn't have to be anything fancy.  Contact a trustee in person or at trusteesfoe871@gmail.com if interested.
 
Our summer clean up day is Saturday, June 15, from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.Come to the Rathskeller and help us clean up the parking lot and make other necessary repairs and beautifications.  Lunch will be provided to volunteers.  
 
One of our generous members has offered to donate $500 a month to the charity of the volunteers' choice.  Volunteers will be given the opportunity to suggest a charity each time they help out.  We will draw slips at the end of every month.  Who would you like to help out?

Rother Turk Funeral Arrangements 6/9/2024

Dues are due!!

Brothers,
 
If you have paid your dues but have not received your membership card, please reply to this email. Dues are set to expire at midnight tomorrow. As per House Rule number 7, you are not permitted to visit the aerie until your dues are paid.
 
Guest entry is not permitted; re-enrollment is required, and the following steps are involved.
 
 

Submit a new application along with a re-enrollment fee of $30.00. Interview with Dave McDermott. Members will vote on reinstatement into membership. There is no initiation required.

 
 
Membership dues are set at $60.00 and can be paid in person or by visiting foe871.com and clicking on "member dues" in the upper right corner. Please note, there is a $2.00 fee for processing payments through PayPal.

Here we go! June 2024!!!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
 
We are serving chicken and ground beef tacos with black beans and rice for $10 on Friday, May 31, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  Come back Sunday, June 2, from 9:00-11:00 a.m.for a fabulous Bloody Mary breakfast.  Eggs and pancakes cooked to order with bacon, sausage, hash browns, grits, puffs and more.  Due to the increased price of ingredients we are raising our prices from $12 to $15 for adults.  Children still eat for $5.  
 
Reminder:  Liquor locker dues must be paid by Saturday, June 1.  Any unpaid lockers will be assigned to members on the waiting list.  Left-over liquor may be reclaimed by contacting a trustee in person or at trusteesfoe871@gmail.com.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
 
The good food just keeps coming.  Check out these upcoming events and sign up for an hour shift to help set up, serve, or clean up meals.  Remember that we rely on members to continue offering the dinners we all enjoy.  FYI: Beginning on June 1, some food and drink prices will change to reflect increased costs.

We have several fun events at the Aerie this weekend you don't want to miss.

Come back on Saturday, May 18, to support our fundraiser for the Special Olympics North America.  The doors open at 7:00 p.m., and DJ Dana Shafie will start spinning disco records at 8:00.  Appetizers and soft drinks will be available, along with a cash bar.  Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

If you haven't paid your dues, please do so before May 31, which is the expiration date. Check your card to see when it expires. Not doing so could lead to over payment.
 
You can pay by mailing in a check, dropping off payment at the bar or go to foe871.com. Upper right corner you will see "Member Dues". Click on that. There is a $2.00 fee for using PayPal. Dues remain at $60.00 for the year.

The bartenders have reported a rise in unpaid bills.  Please remember to settle your account before leaving the Rathskeller.
 
 
There are new signs in the parking lot indicating spots reserved for nearby businesses that pay us a rental fee.  Please do not park there between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

We need a lot more help for our dinner Friday and Bloody Mary breakfast on Sunday or we will have to cancel. We especially need another grillmaster to help cook steaks. One person can't do it, and all our regulars are unavailable. Please talk to a trustee or send an email to trusteesfoe871@gmail.com if you are able to help out.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Bubba Merker Walk Sunday to raise money for heart disease research.  30th Anniversary collared shirts are available for purchase for $20 while supplies last.
 
We have two more great events this week.

Monday, April 22; 8:00 p.m. -- Legends of Jazz Vinyl Night.  Be amazed as the Rathskeller is transformed to the coolest jazz club featuring the greatest jazz artists of all time.  A fantasy performance!
 
Friday, April 26; 5:30-7:30 p.m. --  Shrimp and Wings.  Order your choice of shrimp (fried or spiced) and chicken wings along with corn and coleslaw.  Price varies from $10-$15 depending on your order.  Please give an hour to help set up, serve meals, or clean up.

Ribeye dinner and more!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
 
Our delicious ribeye dinner is back on the menu for Friday, April 19; 5:30-7:30 pm.  Enjoy a steak grilled to order with a baked potato, tossed salad, and sauteed mushrooms and onions for $25.  Please volunteer your time to help set up, serve, or clean up. Then on Sunday, April 21, we will host the 30th Annual Bubba Merker Walk Fundraiser.    FOE 871 has been raising money for heart disease research in memory of our Past Worthy President, Bubba Merker, for three decades. Meet at the Rathskeller at 9:00 a.m. to walk to the Potomac River and back.  Lunch will be served afterwards to all partici[pants  See Don Jenkins, Jean Oliver or Abigail Hopkins for pledge forms.
