Aerie 871
ALVA Aerie 871 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles was founded in Alexandria in 1904 and dedicated to our current home on Cameron Street in 1938. For over a century, ALVA Aerie has been integral to Alexandria's life, supporting local and national charities and providing a social and fraternal home for many Alexandria citizens.
We are still active and engaged! Our Rathskeller is the social center of our thriving fraternal community and our events, which include Friday night Dinners, first Sunday Breakfasts, and special occasions like our Annual Crab Pick, Picnic, and Chili Cookoff. Our events enjoy a diverse mix of families and individuals who come together to enjoy the excellent company of fellow Eagles.
Charitable activities thrive, as well. We support our National charities, such as the Max Baer Heart Fund, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center, and the Jimmy Durante Fund for Children and Child Abuse. We also give closer to home, including many local charities and veteran's organizations, and emergency relief for victims of natural disasters and the families of injured police officers.
